If you bought Tough digitally from my bandcamp or got a free download card with a merch order from me, you've probably already heard this one.

This was written in 2009, but before the Take Control tour.

Heaven Crusher Missile is from a three part thing where I actually made a concerted effort to write a story across multiple songs.
The allegorical meaning pertains to my disillusionment with religion at a very young age and commentary on nuclear proliferation, but the song is "literally" about a missile designed to destroy heaven, a kingdom in the sky.

The story was some sort of Gundam-esque conflict story. Big robots, interplanetary warfare, moon bases, the whole thing.

Side note: The first track of the series was titled Palace of the Clouds. You might recognize that title from the Almond Milks debut "Ghost/Palace" but that is not the same song as the original, I just took the name.Palace of the Clouds was originally about setting up the "heaven" that's being crushed in this song

HOWEVER, the opening of that track is indeed from a Bad Happy b-side which not featured on this release, titled Gunk Stomach. That song is not on here because almost all of it was absorbed into different parts of Palace of the Clouds.
Yes, I'll be reusing that title and keeping this cycle going.

Also, while I'm babbling about Bad Happy trivia:
Shovel Piledriver and Metallic Sheep Nap used to have their titles reversed. The names were just random things that I came up with for project files. Eventually I realized how relevant the titles were to the content of the other song, and made the switch.
